Lumberton Library to Host Creative Writing Seminar

The Lumberton Public Library will be hosting a Writing Enrichment Workshop presented by literary author William Hill on January 12th from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Mr. Hill, a Young Adult artist/author, will be presenting a workshop which uses a creative approach to reinforcing the schools’ curriculums and supports state writing standards.  By mixing stage magic, interactive exercises, and visual media, Hill shows the power of words, discusses how to generate ideas, offers storytelling secrets and insights, and stresses the importance of editing and revising.  Mr. Hill’s show is appropriate for, and will potentially benefit, children of all ages.  This visit was coordinated with the Houston Area Library System (HALS).  Attendance will be open to the public by reservation.  Please contact the Lumberton Public Library at 409-755-7400 to reserve your seat for this event.

William Hill is a writer and experienced speaker living in Gardnerville, NV. He is the author of The Magic Bicycle, Chasing Time, The Vampire Hunters, and The Vampire Hunters Stalked, all of which take place in Texas. One of Hill’s missions in life is to inspire readers and writers through entertaining and educational ways.  He attends the annual Texas Library Association Conference and frequently visits relatives in north Texas.  He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and earned a MBA from the University of North Texas.  He worked in Human Resources and training in the corporate world before his first novel, Dawn of the Vampire, was published in 1990.
